In order to make your Models appear more realistic you can now add Materials. These materials look true to life with natural levels of shine and roughness detail; with a large library of real world materials, including a wide array of metals, woods and plastics.

You can apply a material to an Object or choose to give the Sub-objects different materials. This can be great for making complex machines look realistic with distinctly different components.

Materials can be applied to any model, with or without a UV Map.

Add materials to your Objects

To add a Material to your Objects:

  1. Tap to select the Object.
  2. Press the Color tool {icon-colour.svg} on the toolbar.
  3. Select the Materials tab to open the material menu.
  4. Scroll through and select a material.

Note: The selected material will be applied to the object on every step of the Jig.

Changing a materials Color

The color of an Object can be edited independently of the Objects material. When you add a new material to an Object it will overwrite the original color with the new materials default color.

To change a materials Color:

  1. Once you have selected a material.
  2. Go to the Color tab to open the Color menu.
  3. Edit the color using the Color Field and slider.

Replicate a materials Color

If you want this color to be the same throughout the Jig, you will need to copy this attribute using the Replicate tool.

To copy a materials Color across the whole Jig:

  1. Press and hold on the Color {icon-colour.svg}
  2. This will open the replicate tool.
  3. Select copy Across All Steps {icon-all.svg}
  4. This will copy the material and color attributes across your whole Jig.
