Think of Steps as the individual units in your Jig presentation that you can fill with content, similar to slides in a PowerPoint presentation.

You should consider how many Steps it takes to demo your product or present your concept. This will range from 5-20 most of the time, though we have seen Jigs with over 100 steps in them for complex manufacturing or training user guides.

Adding a Step

To add a Step to your Jig:

  1. Press the add Step {icon-add-steps.svg} button on the timeline at the top of your screen.
  2. You can add as many Steps as you would like to a Jig.

Duplicate a Step

During the creation process of your Jig you may find that you want to create a Step with the same models and text as a previous Step to use as a starting point for further edits. You can do this by duplicating that Step {icon-add-steps.svg}.

To duplicate a Step:

  1. Select the Step you want to duplicate.
  2. Press the add Step {icon-add-steps.svg} button.
  3. The new Step in the timeline will be the same as the one you selected.

Moving Steps

If you find that you want to reorganize the order of your steps your can move a step forward or back through the Timeline.

To Move a Step:

  1. Press and hold on the Step you want to move.
  2. The Steps will bounce and a Cross {icon-remove.svg} will appear in the top right corner of each Step.
  3. Press and drag your chosen Step into its new position in the Timeline.
  4. To finish tap off the Timeline.

Removing Steps

If you find that you no longer need a Step of your Jig you can remove it from the Timeline.

To Remove a Step from the Timeline:

  1. Tap and hold one of your Steps.
  2. The steps will bounce and a Remove Step {icon-remove.svg} icon will appear in the top right corner of each Step.
  3. Tap the Remove Step {icon-remove.svg} on each Step you want to remove.
  4. To finish tap off the Timeline.

Step Transitions

Transitions across the Steps of a Jig can be a fantastic way of adding animation to bring your models to life. You can also use transition fades to smoothly introduce new concepts and models to scene. A good transition can tell a story in and of itself. Visit Transitions to learn more.
