Jig QR codes

QR codes (a type of barcode) have become very common ways to quickly access a website or application simply by scanning with your iPhone or iPad camera.

You can make a QR code that links to a Jig very easily. This speeds up the time it takes to view the Augmented Reality experience or 3D presentation to mere seconds. Try the example below.

Creating QR Codes for JigSpace

Another practical way of sharing Jigs is converting a Jig link into a QR code. You can do this using free QR creators like the QR Code Monkey website. This will allow you to attach printed labels of the QR code onto your products to act as interactive instructions. The QR Code containing your Jig could feature product information, a user's manual or even maintenance instructions.

To create a Jig QR code:

  1. Log into the JigSpace app and tap on the Jig you want to share.
  2. Open the details {icon-more-settings.svg} icon in the top right corner.
  3. Press share, and then copy, to get a copy of the Jig sharing link.
  4. Next open up QR Code Monkey
  5. In the content panel, delete the placeholder address and paste in the copied Jig Link.(You can also add customization’s like your company colors and logos.)
  6. When you’re finished, create the QR code and download the image file.

Note: Remember to test your link to make sure it runs smoothly

Scanning Jig QR Codes

First download the JigSpace app from the Apple AppStore. This will ensure that the QR Codes can open cleanly, when scanned.

To open a QR code link you can use either the iPhone camera or a specialist QR code scanning app. There are several professional or free versions of these on the App store.

Using the QR Code App, scan the code and a link to the Jig should pop up. Tap to open that link and the Jig will load immediately via the JigSpace app. In the app you will be able to step through the presentation in Augmented Reality, and explore and learn about Jig you have just scanned.

Creating QR codes in the Jig Dashboard

The Jig Dashboard is a Pro Feature and requires a Jig Pro subscription.

In the Jig Dashboard you will be able to access a large number of pro features including the ability quickly generate QR Code images for your Jigs.

To create a Jig QR code in the Dashboard:

  1. Log into the Jig Dashboard.
  2. Go to the My Jigs menu.
  3. Find the Jig you want to share with a QR Code and press Get QR Code.
  4. A QR code will be automatically generated, press Download QR Code.
  5. An image of your QR code will load into your download folder.
  6. You can copy and paste this image onto your website, or share them via email and social media platforms.
