Rotating an object across steps can be a great way to create movement in a Jig. You can also rotate sub-objects and animate them as individual components of a larger machine. This can help to add more dynamic animations when you transition between steps.

Rotating Objects

If your model is highlighted blue and the tool bar displays the Object Mode {icon-object-mode.svg} button, you’re in object mode and can rotate your model in the scene.

The Rotation tool {icon-rotate.svg} is located on the Toolbar and can be used to rotate your objects.

To Rotate an Object:

  1. Tap to select the Object.
  2. Tap the Rotate tool {icon-rotate.svg} on the toolbar.
  3. Press and hold down on one of the arrows on the rotation tool.
  4. Drag away from the rotation tool.

Rotating Sub-objects

If your object is highlighted green, (or in the case of grouped sub-objects, purple) and the toolbar displays the Sub-object Mode  {icon-sub-object-mode.svg} button, you’re in sub-object mode and can move the individual components of your model.

To Rotate a Sub-object:

  1. Tap to select a Sub-object.
  2. Tap the Rotate tool {icon-rotate.svg}  on the toolbar.
  3. Press and hold down on one of the arrows on the rotation tool.
  4. Drag away from the rotation tool.
