Process Guide

The process of creating a Jig can vary depending on the complexity of you 3D models and the information you want to discuss. Here we have broken down the basic process of creating a Jig into 10 easy to follow step.

1. To start off with load your 3D model into the Jig scene.

Materials Key

2. Next add materials and colors to your model.

3. Add labels to the important components and fill in relevant information.

4. Create a new Step on the timeline.

5. On this step edit a component of your model (move/scale/rotate the object/sub-object, turn on its label).

6. Fill in the bottom textbox with interesting information relating to the featured component.

7. Repeat steps 4 to 6 until you've explored and discussed the focus of the Jig.

8. Check your Jig out in AR Mode {icon-ar.svg}.

9. Go to the info panel and fill in any important information (Title, Description) and take a Thumbnail Picture.

10. Go to the bottom of the info panel and turn ON public link sharing; then press share to generate a sharable link. You can then share this link with colleagues and friends for them to view your Jig in AR. (Only those with this private link will be able to view your Jig. A jig can NOT be edited using a shared Jig link.)

And just like that you have a beautiful new Jig

Desktop application

This Jig was created using the Jig Pro desktop application, but can also be completed on iPhone or iPad.

The desktop computer app, on Mac and Windows, is available for download on a Pro subscription, and also features STEP file and SolidWorks file imports, 300Mb upload limits and so much more.
